1.

Taught at post graduate level for eight years at B.Com (Honors) and M.Com in the University of the Punjab (1965-73). Subjects taught included: Construction and Criticism of Published Accounts, Advanced Auditing, Cost and Management Accounting, Income Tax Law, Auditing and Statistics.  

2.

Founder Director of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of the Punjab, from 1973 to 1996 the second business school in Pakistan in public University set up. This was the first business school setup in punjab. Courses taught: Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Analysis of Financial Statements, Management, Business Taxation, Research Methods & Techniques, Managerial Policies, Business Finance, Financial Institutions, Development Economics, Organizational Theory & Behavior.

Retired on March 20, 1996. Visiting Professor to various Universities in Pakistan, Australia, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, India, Iran, USA and Bangladesh. Participated in Visiting Colleagues Program at the University of Hawaii, Honolulu, USA for six weeks (1984). During 1997-2006, served as a Visiting Professor at IBA, Lahore and taught Business Taxation, Managerial Policies, Cost Accounting, Research Methodology and Management.

Serving as Principal of Hailey College of Banking and Finance, University of the Punjab, Lahore since February 2003. Besides Administrative, Strategic Management, Auditing, Income Tax, Financial and  Development work, also taught Advanced Management, Operations Management and Corporate, Mercantile & Industrial Laws to the students of M.B.A. Executive (Banking and Finance) and Insurance & Risk Management.

FACULTY OF COMMERCE AND BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

Served as Founder, Dean Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration of Hajvery group of Colleges Lahore from December 1996 to May 1999. Besides academic, administrative and research work, taught courses which included Micro Economics, Change Management, Cost and Management Accounting, Production and Operations Management and Macro Economics. Provided leadership in Commerce and Business Administration Courses at Post Graduate level. Now the above set up has a Charter from the Government of the Punjab as a Private University.

Served as Dean Executive Program of Punjab College of Business Administration, constituent College of the University of Central Punjab in Lahore (1999-2003). Developed an innovative Executive MBA Program and taught several courses including Management, Strategic Management, Research Methods, Market Research, Marketing Cases, Business Policy, Corporate Laws,  Management Consulting, Research Methodology, Strategic Management, Consumer Behavior, Marketing Research and Comparative Management.

VISITING PROFESSORSHIPS

Visiting Professor at Institute of Management Technology, Gaziabad, India since 1997. This is ranked 10th top business school in India.

Adjunct Professor in Graduate School of Management, Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia: 1998-2003.

 

MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS

Delivered presentations in various courses conducted in Pakistan Administrative Staff College, Lahore, National Institute of Public Administration, Institute of Bankers Pakistan, and various Civil and Military Administrative management development institutions in Pakistan.

PROFESSIONAL

Extensively taught in Professional Courses e.g. Chartered Accounting, Cost and Management Accounting and Bankers (1966-2006). Courses taught included: Higher Accountancy, Advanced Accounting, Intermediate Accounting and Auditing.

WORLD BANK COURSES IN PAKISTAN

Taught in the World Bank Economic Development Institute’s (EDI) Programs in Pakistan. Topics Taught included: Project Analysis, Financial Analysis, Investment Analysis. Also conducted Case Study Sessions and Syndicates (1978–2006).

DOCTORAL WORK SUPERVISION/EXAMINATION

Served as “Approved Supervisor” for Ph.D. Programs by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.

Served as External Examiner of Ph.D dissertations of Kolkata University, India, Dhaka and Rajshahi Universities, Bangladesh.

Delivered presentations in Institute of Education & Research, University of the Punjab, Lahore for Ph.D. Candidates.

Delivered presentation to candidates pursuing Ph.D. program at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India.

Taught Ph.D., two courses (Production Planning & Control and Cost Management for TQM Culture) in Quality Management Division, Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology, University of the Punjab, Lahore (2003-2004). This Division now enjoys the autonomous status of Institute of Quality and Technology Management.

Appointed as Professor Emeritus by the University of the Punjab, Lahore in March 2010.
